Management of trickle irrigation for banana: Hydrodynamic processes and sensor placement at the root zone

ABSTRACT Information on soil hydrodynamic processes assists in explaining the soil-water-plant relationship and has practical applications to irrigation management, such as definition of water sensor placement. The objective this study was detail process root zone define location for placement under different configurations trickle banana crops. Three micro-sprinkler emitters with flow rates 70 (T1), 53 (T2), 35 L h-1 (T3), two drip system, one line per row plants (T4), another lines (T5) were evaluated. experiment conducted a randomized block design five repetitions. Higher extraction found systems higher all systems. Soil moisture sensors should be placed at distances 0.75 0.81 m from pseudo stem depths 0.33 0.44 m. Under systems, 0.75, 0.77 0.83 towards emitter 0.33, 0.48 0.55 35, h-1, respectively.
